Theo and Mama

Dear Shelter Staff and Volunteers- This February my husband and I went to your shelter with the intention of finding a cat to bring home.  As fate would have it, the cat we chose to have on of her kittens at the shelter, although he wasn't quite ready for adoption yet.  Everyone agreed it would be ideal to keep them together, so we ended up bringing two cats home- Eleanor and Theodore.  Somehow Theo (pictured above) kept his name, but we renamed Eleanor 'Sweet Pea', although we just call her Mama all the time.

Thanks to all the staff for their help and information.  You all do a great job and of course Mama and Theo send their thanks as well.  Enjoy the photo, Theo's quite a model.  Thanks again, Judy and Peter

Captain Jack

Captain Jack was found on the streets of Greenfield suffering from an injury to what appeared to be a car hit-and-run.  Taken in by the Animal Control Officer and then brought to Greenfield DPVHS, Captain Jack quickly become a staff favorite.  The South Deerfield Veterinary Clinic treated him for his injuries, including the removal of his right eye.  Jack spent his time in the office of DPVHS recovering from his tragedy and learned to trust humans again.  He was soon adopted by a woman named Jen and has since been spending his time being loved and spoiled in his new home.  DPVHS staff are often blessed with happy visits from Captain Jack.

Marco

This is Marco adopted a few months ago. Marco lives with 4 other cats.  He has befriended Corazon, a semi feral, who has only ever hid under the bed and who has now bravely ventured out with the help and courage of her new brother Marco. Thanks

Howie and Squeaker

I wanted to take a minute to send some pictures of our cats that we adopted from you this summer.  Howie is now Jack and we love him very much.  He is a great addition to our family and can't imagine what we were doing without him.  He plays all the time, when he's in the mood that is!  Squeaker is now Diana.  She always needs to know what is going on and loves to play with Jack.  We've made the decision to keep them both as inside cats since we couldn't bear to lose them.  They have been great from day one and we love them to pieces.  Thank you!  Hollie and John

Annie Oakley

Thought you might get a kick out of "Annie Oakley" just hours after her
arrival at our home. Two days later, she's ruling the roost. Thanks for
all you wonderful work!

Shelby a.k.a. Kate

Shelby, a.k.a. Kate, came through her procedure at Northampton Veterinary Clinic very well. She has been resting and recuperating at a good pace. I have her scheduled to see our Vet next Tuesday. Shelby has been doing very well being crated at night and has been quite interested in her new surroundings. She has enjoyed the back massages, and just today wanted me to rub her belly. I can see the "trusting" is coming along quite nicely.

As you can see from this picture, she has decided lounging on our couch is better than her bed in the crate (this is a new thing just today). She also follows me into the kitchen to see what's going on in there. She'll doing very well on the leash. Her nervousness is lessening little by little.

We feel blessed that Shelby has come into our lives. She's helping us transition from our loss of our beloved Momo, to sharing our love for her. Thank you to all of you for your assistance in the adoption last Friday! Very Sincerely, the Lapane Family

Frank

Hi everyone at PVHS!! I was the "one-eyed wonder" no one wanted to take home until the end of the summer last year. I wanted to assure you I've gone to a wonderful home where I am very much loved, and they buy me lot's of toys and give me shrimp twice a day for a snack! I did find out a have a bit of an asthma problem, but it doesn't slow me down one bit. I love playing fetch all day, and running and sliding across the kitchen floor is a lot of fun! Thank you for taking care of me at the shelter, I miss you all! And thank you for sending me home with such a loving family! Love, Frank

Freida Cat

Hi everyone!  I thought you would all enjoy seeing some pictures of me and how I am doing in my new home.  When I first arrived I settled right in and made this basket my comfy spot.  I just love it!  My cat friend "Smokey" and I love napping in the warm sunshine and play hide and seek in the cat tunnel.  I miss everyone at the shelter, but I love my new home and family.  I am very happy here!  Love, Freida Cat

Sonny

Hi Guys!  My new person Martha said she would send you pictures of me at my new home, and here they are.  She took them in July and August after I decided I didn't need to hide under the bed all the time!  I like it here.  The food is good and the house is bright and sunny.  I get to go outside sometimes with a harness and leash.  (It was VERY WINDY yesterday!)  Just thought you'd like the pictures and to know that I am settled in my new home and very happy!  Thanks for everything.  Love, Sonny Thundercat

Nicky

Nicky, now called Calvin has adjusted very well.  He is very laid back and is definitely a cuddler and lap cat which is exactly what I wanted.  Calvin loves to play with milk tabs, balls of paper and "mousies".  His favorite place to sit is on my shoulder.  I was very pleased with the staff.  I recommend anyone to PVHS, and this is my 2nd adoption from you- I will certainly adopt from you again!  Thanks! Linda

Alex

Alex, also called "Boots" and "Pretty Boy" has adapted to our home superbly.  It has been a wonderful experience.  We love him so very much and could not be happier.  The staff at PVHS made the adoption experience wonderful, relaxing and exciting too!  Thanks! Maura
